(2022) For a long time before I new the name of this chair, we referred to it as Tootsie Roll. Hot dogs would also work. But I'm a sucker for that smooth chrome leg. And a smooth banger on a barbie foe that matter!
Designed by Michel Boyer, this lounge chair was created in 1971. It's the Rouve edition made from chrome steel and leather. Michel Boyer is an architect, interior decorator and designer. His best-known works are the interiors of the Rothschild Bank in Paris (1970) and the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. (1975) and Brasilia. For these projects, he incorporated stainless steel desks, counters, and seating to convey the power of the institutions. He's worked on prestigious projects for french labels such as Môet & Chandon, L'Oréal, Dior, Balmain and Disneyland Paris. He creates tables, lights, sofas and offices for the notorious Rouve shop in Paris.
Framing
Framing
Framed within a white shadow box frame with a floated mount and 2 or 3.5 inch reveal. With museum grade UV fitering plexiglass.
This is my favorite way to frame, the white wood is simple and clean and the shadow box/floated mount makes the paper appear floating, not touching the back board nor glass.
All framing is by the great team at Tribeca Print Works in NYC.
