(2022)Give me a good dose of metal and I'll give you reflection induced rainbow of colors. I wasn't sure if this would translate out of context. This iconic yet not-totally-recognizable-as-a-chair seat. But I think that's part of the beauty - could we say, if you know, you know?

The original version of the chair in rigid polyurethane foam with a glossy lacquer finish is marketed under the name Panton Chair Classic.

Verner Panton was one of the most influential figures in the development of design during the 1960s and ’70s. Along with his experimental approach to forms and colours, he was captivated by the potential of plastic, a novel material at the time. His aim was to create a comfortable chair made in one piece that could be used anywhere. After searching for a manufacturer for several years, Panton came into contact with Vitra in 1963. Together they developed the Panton Chair, which was first presented in 1967. 

Fifty years after its initial launch, Vitra issued two limited editions in 2018 one of hem being the Panton Chrome.



Framing

Framed within a white shadow box frame with a floated mount and 2 or 3.5 inch reveal. With museum grade UV fitering plexiglass.

This is my favorite way to frame, the white wood is simple and clean and the shadow box/floated mount makes the paper appear floating, not touching the back board nor glass.

All framing is by the great team at Tribeca Print Works in NYC.
