I couldn’t leave the 1977 Lui magazine just at its cover. Too much gold. It also reaches that end-of-collection wrap date when I want to keep going and going. These are the final works. Inspired by my mouth that covers this book. The mouth that is found on ‘Flash Sheet’. A lick at something more sensual, something devoid of children, but perhaps the invitation to make some. Fragments. Keyhole views of women, naked women, full women, mothers? The projection we can give to the world. Just a square, without context, without the mess, without the children at their feet or the man looking upon them. An image that says nothing but a false projection to administer to the world. Sex is procreation; sex is the seed. Women hold the power of desire, parted lips suggest, as sealed lips hide the rest of the story that lives within. The rest of the story has been omitted. Take the beauty as it is, only a facade, only a facet.
