I could, and maybe I will, draw these fish eggs all day. They’re perfect. Appropriate, as everything in Tokyo seems perfect, from the very fleeting and observing outer eye, that is. It’s like some outsider telling you your family is perfect; what a quick way to show your ignorance. But it’s a gift, the ikura, wrapped neatly for a perfect mouthful, and what a delight it is when the popping begins.
